What is VMware vSphere?

VMware vSphere is the compute layer of VMware Cloud Foundation. The platform combines the ESXi hypervisor with vCenter Server to virtualize physical servers and manage them centrally. vSphere has been the industry standard for server virtualization for over 20 years.
